Marketing plan? What marketing plan?

It’s that word, “marketing” that gets you every time, doesn’t it? It’s a dirty word and no one wants to admit that they hate marketing or they just simply don’t have the time to do it. I get it. I’m not a fan of marketing either, but I don’t mind assisting my clients when they’re in need of help. I couldn’t find a better topic to write on since it’s the first day of October and it’s the first day of the 4th quarter of 2019. This is THE best time to start putting your 2020 marketing plan into place. Seriously. Typically around this time of the year, your business starts to wane or slow down and it’s the best time to start planning the new year with a fresh perspective on how you want to promote yourself to a new level. I want to start the new year, poised and ready to hit the mark on all my marketing avenues that I possibly can.

Okay, so the next question you’ll ask is…How do I create a marketing plan? Where do I start? That’s a great question! Let me help you with that!

I’m actually working with a client now that is in need of help marketing her new online business. Just this past week, the two of us had an initial discovery call on the different ways she can market her business. Obviously, we could not cover everything in one call, so we will be having a series of calls to get her to a place to launch her business and launch a marketing system that will work for her business model. As I was typing up our notes from our recent call, I came across a template that I downloaded last year that I’m going to share with her this week. And I’m going to share it on my post as well because I think it will be most useful to my readers too. You can download a copy here. (content credit goes to Susan Mershon, The Techie Mentor)

I do want to emphasize on this post that if you are going to implement new marketing practices for the new year, be sure that you are expanding your reach by utilizing email marketing to capture your leads and set up nurture campaigns to keep your audience engaged. Most likely, you’ll increase your business just from email marketing alone! Of course, do consider using social media marketing too. If there is any marketing avenue that you can use and it has proved to be successful, then continue to integrate that into your marketing plan for 2020.

In the coming weeks, I’ll continue to post marketing ideas leading up to the new year, so stop back by and feel free to read. Or if you need some guidance, feel free to contact me to set up a consultation call. We’ll get you set up with a new plan of action for the new year!

Until tomorrow…Day 2 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge!
